Shawn Yeager is co-founder of music tech and financial services startup, Trustream. They’re creating the first Music Futures Exchange, along with entirely new investment products, to better capitalize the music industry, enable unprecedented new commoditization of its assets, and meet rapidly growing investor demand.
Previously, Shawn was CEO of ANKR, a groundbreaking Internet of Things device and software company, where he was recruited to scale up sales and operations and raise growth capital. Shawn led strategic initiatives in software development, product design, marketing and customer support, while adding key retailers like Best Buy and Home Depot as well as high-volume B2B distribution, enabling the company to realize breakout growth.
Prior to ANKR, Shawn was partner at music tech venture-builder, BPG, and co-founder of portfolio company, Endorsee. At BPG, he led customer and business development for their portfolio companies and advised over 100 startups and enterprises on business model design, product strategy, customer acquisition and growth. Shawn made his mark leading workshops and accelerators, as operator and advisor to scores of great entrepreneurs, and by fostering dialog and advancing important music industry issues through podcasting, writing and public speaking.
Previously, Shawn founded and led a boutique management consulting firm whose clients ranged from indie game developers to multi-billion dollar software companies. As an executive in business development for startup and growth-stage tech companies including Exodus Communications, Platform Computing (acquired by IBM) and Varicent Software (acquired by IBM), Shawn produced market-shaping partnerships, international expansion, hundred-million dollar revenue streams and recognition from industry luminary Bill Gates.
At Microsoft, his work on their first browser team added over a million new users, and his contributions in e-commerce resulted in pioneering partnerships and the acquisition of dozens of Fortune 500 customers. Early in his career, Shawn led strategy and development for one of the earliest online music retailers, MusicDirect.
Shawn is a mentor at Nashville Entrepreneur Center and advisor to numerous tech companies across the US and Canada.
